DGIS IV another great success

Dateline Chicago all last week...
About 100 dangerous goods instructors from all over the world made it through the economic downturn and attended Labelmaster's fourth annual Dangerous Goods Instructors Symposium. This one had the tandem launch of the DGTA's (check out their website, www.dgtrainers.org -- note that it's dot "org" not dot "com"!!), test exams. Lots of good things happening that will give the DG instructors a reliable and most important, non-commercial training standard.

Oh, and Dick Elbourne, formerly of just about every airline and IATA got the 2009 Keystone award from Labelmaster/Hazardous Cargo Bulletin. Fine recognition for a guy whose spent some 50 years advancing the cause of dangerous goods safety in air transport in general and training in particular. Well done Dick! Check out his instructors website: http:/dginstructor.webexone.com.

Welcome to DG-HM

DG-HM clearly, to those who care, stands for Dangerous Goods - Hazardous Materials - hence this is welcome to the world of dangerous goods.

This blog is intended as a more informal, non-commercial look at the business and regulations of dangerous goods in transport.
